Files

Configuration → Files (/configuration/files, permission file_list) is a browser for the tenant’s file storage, provided by the files package. Each tenant has its own storage bucket (ulams-<slug> on MinIO or S3; see Tenants), so the library shows only that tenant’s files.

The file browser showing folders and files
  • Folders: click the folder button to open a folder and .. to go up. The current path is shown above the list.
  • Search: type part of a file name and click Query to search in the current folder; Reset returns to the plain listing.
  • Upload: the upload control above and below the list uploads files into the current folder (POST /api/admin/file/upload, permission file_create). The panel cannot create empty folders; upload into the folder you need.
  • Delete: the red button removes a file (file_delete). Folders have no delete button.

The same browser opens from upload fields across the panel (Browse files next to an upload field), so a file can be uploaded once and reused. Forms upload to folders named after the item:

Folder Content
avatars/{user id} user avatars
course/{course id} course images, videos and topic files
webinar/{webinar id} webinar files
stationary-events/{id} stationary event files
categories/{category id} category icons
pages/{page id}/wysiwyg images inserted in static pages

Users with file_list_self instead of file_list see only the folders listed in their account’s access_to_directories. The package fills that list from events:

  • account confirmed: avatars/{user id};
  • assigned as a course tutor: course/{course id} (removed when unassigned);
  • assigned as a webinar trainer: webinar/{webinar id} (removed when unassigned);
  • assigned as a stationary event author: stationary-events/{id} (removed when unassigned).

Large media files, such as videos and SCORM or H5P packages, are uploaded through the course editor; see Content creators.
