Teacher and competency challenges
Needs review
Needs review: Backends missing: ulams/pcg-integration, pcg-grades, pcg-attendances and ulams/competency-challenges are not in api/packages; decide whether to remove these admin screens or bring the packages in.
Why the menus are hidden
Section titled “Why the menus are hidden”The admin panel asks GET /api/core/packages which packages are installed. That endpoint lists
the modules in api/packages (from api/packages/versions.json) plus any installed composer
packages under ulams/. The access rules in admin/src/access.ts require the matching package
for each screen:
| Screen | Needs package | Needs one of these permissions |
|---|---|---|
Teacher → Subjects (/teacher/subjects) |
ulams/pcg-integration |
pcg-integration_semester-subject_list, pcg-integration_semester_list, pcg-integration_academic-year_list |
Subject details (/teacher/subjects/:subjectId[/:tab]) |
ulams/pcg-integration, ulams/pcg-grades, ulams/pcg-attendances |
grade, exam and attendance permissions such as exam_list or attendance_list-admin |
Competency challenges (/competency-challenges/list, /competency-challenges/:id/:tab) |
ulams/competency-challenges |
competency-challenges_list, _read, _create, _update, _delete, competency-challenge-scale_* |
None of those packages is reported, so the screens are hidden whatever the user’s role.
Teacher → Subjects
Section titled “Teacher → Subjects”
Written for a university integration (“PCG”): a tutor sees the semester subjects they teach.
The subject view has tabs for groups, students, exams with results, schedule, a class register
with attendance, the grade scale, final grades and a history of exported grade files. The
screens call endpoints such as /api/admin/semester-subjects, /api/admin/exams,
/api/admin/final-grades, /api/admin/grade-terms, /api/admin/schedules and
/api/admin/pcg-export. None of them exists in this API.
Competency challenges
Section titled “Competency challenges”
A competency challenge is a simple or complex assessment built from quiz question
categories, with scales that map results to levels and a diagnostic-test tab. The screens call
/api/admin/competency-challenges and /api/admin/competency-challenges/scales, which do not
exist in this API.
What is planned instead
Section titled “What is planned instead”A competency framework per tenant, with AI-suggested tags that the author confirms and learner skill profiles, is on the roadmap (Phase 6.6). It is a new design, not a revival of these screens.
